Vintage 'Chiparus' Bronze Garden Statue / Water Feature

An elegant bronze garden statue that also acts as a water feature.

A copper water pipe enters through the circular base. Water then exits below the upturned Amphora vase, designed so that the water cascades over the models head. Fantastic patina to the bronze after spending years outside.

Signed 'Chiparus' on the base; Demetre Haralamb Chiparus was a famous Romanian Sculptor who made a name for himself by creating life-like sculptures of the female form across the Art Deco period. Although this isn't an original - the piece still captures the same level of movement Chiparus managed to achieve. Good crisp casting to the hair.
